A Certified Capital Company ("CAPCO")

The New York Small Business Venture Fund, LLC ("NYSBVF") was established by the Investment Fund, in 1998, the New York State Department of Insurance designated NYSBVF as a certified capital company ("CAPCO"). This qualified the entity to raise investment capital from insurance companies, which would thereby be entitled to state tax credits. As a result, NYSBVF has approximately $60 million in funding from the insurance industry to invest in small, early stage business enterprises.
