Information provided to the Fund will be shared with a select group of Fund Investors and other experts who will participate in proposal evaluation and due diligence.
Once a proposal is deemed appropriate for consideration by the Fund, applicants may be invited to meet with a project team comprised of experts drawn from one of the Fund's Sector Groups. Each Sector Group consists of approximately 10–15 Investors and other experts who act as an advisory committee to the Fund in determining where and how to invest. Their involvement includes analysis, due diligence, advisory support and network resources. The Sector Group is typically a cross section representing the corporate, financial institution, investment bank, utility, law firm and prominent individual Investors. Two or three of the sector volunteers typically comprise a project team and, once they agree that a proposal is appropriate for the Fund, assume responsibility for shepherding it through the review process.
The Fund is prepared to collaborate in due diligence with other investors. The Fund's investment decisions are made by the Board of Directors, based on recommendations from the project team. (In the case of nonprofit funding, the decisions are made by the Board of the New York City Partnership Foundation, Inc., based on the review and recommendation of the project team and the Fund's Board of Directors.)
