Jerome Chazen, founding CEO of Liz Claiborne, chairs the Retail and Tourism Sector Group. The Fund has invested in a number of projects that have brought new retail services and employment opportunities to the city. Past investments include Dinosaur Bar-B-Que, Applebee's Neighborhood Grill Bar and NuKitchen. NYCIF has also provided loans to non-profit organizations, such as Greenpoint Manufacturing & Design, The Doe Fund and Therapy and Learning Center, to help them expand their ability to offer needed community services, as well as to welfare-to-work initiatives to train and place individuals in retail industry jobs.
